The bay and the calendar, in the same place

Book the customer drop-off and the technician slot together, so the car and the person who works on it arrive on the same day.

The appointment book says the car is coming in. It does not say whether anyone is free to work on it.

Scheduling covers both halves: when the customer is dropping the vehicle off, and which technician has the hours to do the work. Booking one without the other is how a shop ends up with four cars and one available tech.

The backlog is a list of approved jobs waiting for a slot, so nothing approved quietly falls out of sight. The calendar shows the week across every technician, with the hours each job is expected to take.

Reminders go out before the appointment. Customers who want to know where their car is get a tracking link instead of a phone call.
